The Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA) met with the NPB earlier today in Tokyo. They discussed a number of issues, including when to start the 2017 season.
The NPB is currently planning to start the 2017 season on March 31, however the JPBPA would like the league to consider the condition of players returning from the World Baseball Classic and push the start of the season back to April 7.
Players that participated in the 2013 World Baseball Classic had only about a week to prepare for the season. The JPBPA would like to give WBC players two weeks next year.0 Comments
