[6/11/2016] Wataru Karashima pitches in Ni-gun rehab game

Wataru Karashima was working his way back from left shoulder inflammation when he also developed pain in his side. He pitched in a Ni-gun rehab game on June 11 against Yakult at Tendo. It was his first game since April 12.

Karashima entered the game in the fifth inning and gave up two runs on three hits over two innings of work. He struggled with his control and later told reporters it was due to a lack of throwing.

Yoshinori Sato (right shoulder) started a Ni-gun game against Rakuten at Tendo on June 11. He gave up five runs, four earned, on five hits over six innings. He threw ninety-nine pitches and topped out at 152km/h in the sixth inning.

[6/11/2016] Kazuhiro Hatakeyama leaves game with pain in his left wrist

Kazuhiro Hatakeyama was removed from yesterday’s game against the Chiba Lotte Marines at QVC Marine on defense in the seventh inning because of pain in his left wrist. He is considered day-to-day.

Hatekeyama initially hurt his left wrist before the start of the season. He aggravated it when he fielded a ball in the first inning.

[6/11/2016] Yasutomo Kubo records twenty-second Inter-league victory

Yasutomo Kubo won his start against the Orix Buffaloes at Kyocera Dome on June 10. The victory was his twenty-second during Inter-league play. He is the first pitcher in NPB history to record at least ten Inter-league victories from each league (twelve victories with Lotte, five victories with Hanshin, and five victories with Yokohama).
