The Yomiuri Giants announced today that they reached an agreement with twenty-nine-year-old pitcher Arquimedes Caminero. He was assigned the uniform number 44. The Giants released the following comment from Caminero:
I am happy to be a part of the Yomiuri Giants. This is a new chapter in my life and I am looking forward to going to Japan for the first time. I cannot wait to be a part of the team and give it my best. I want to help win a championship.
According to media reports, the two sides agreed on a one-year deal worth an estimated 1.15 million US dollars.

According to Nikkan Sports, the Yomiuri Giants are interested in thirty-four-year-old pitcher Ross Ohlendorf. They already have five foreign players on their seventy-man roster, but are also looking to add more depth to their bullpen.
