[5/25/2016] Atsushi Nomi’s day ended after ninety pitches

Atsushi Nomi left his start against Yakult last night (May 24) after throwing ninety pitches. When reporters asked Nomi if he was pulled because of an injury, he did not deny or confirm any issues. Pitching coach Isao Koda admitted that under normal circumstances, the veteran would have pitched another inning, then added it was nothing serious. The closest the media got to a real explanation was from Tomoaki Kanemoto, who said there were some concerns about the elbow.
