[6/17/2018] Tohoku Fukushi wins Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship

The 67th Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship ended on June 17 with Tohoku Fukushi taking home the trophy with a 6-2 win over Kokusai Budo.

Hayato Yoshida started in center for Tohoku Fukushi. He went 3-for-5 with a an RBI and a stolen base. Taisei Fukae got the start at third for Tohoku Fukushi and went 1-for-3 with two RBI. He hit a two-run blast in the first inning.

Yoshiyuki Aono started the game for Kokusai Budo and gave up five runs (all earned) on five hits over 1.2 innings of work. He threw forty-three pitches, faced eleven batters, and struck out two.

The Japan Student Baseball Association and the Japan University Baseball Federation held meetings in Tokyo on December 6 and set the calendar for the 2018 season.

49th Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament

  • Six days beginning on November 9, 2018
