[7/26/2018] Hanshin, Softbank agree on trade: Ryoma Matsuda for Yuya Iida

The Hanshin Tigers and Softbank Hawks announced on July 26 that they agreed to a one-for-one player trade. The Tigers will send twenty-four-year-old pitcher Ryoma Matsuda to the Hawks for twenty-seven-year-old pitcher Yuya Iida. Both teams were looking to improve their bullpens. The trade will also allow Matsuda (Nagasaki) and Iida (Hyogo) to move a little closer to home.

[7/26/2018] Lotte sends Takahiro Fujioka to Nippon Ham for Hiromi Oka

The Chiba Lotte Marines and Nippon Ham Fighters agreed on a one-for-one trade on July 26. The Marines will send twenty-nine-year-old pitcher Takahiro Fujioka to the Fighters for twenty-seven-year-old outfielder Hiromi Oka. The Marines were looking for a little more depth in the outfield after Takashi Ogino got hurt (finger fracture) and they liked Oka’s potential. The Fighters wanted to add another left-handed pitcher to their staff.

[7/22/2018] Softbank sends Kaisei Sone to Yokohama in return for Yuki Mima

The Softbank Hawks and Hiroshima Carp announced today that they reached an agreement on a trade. The Hawks will send twenty-three-year-old Kaisei Sone to the Bay Stars for twenty-four-year-old Yuki Mima.

Seibu Lions announced today that they acquired twenty-six-year-old Ryuya Ogawa in a trade with the Chunichi Dragons for cash considerations.

[7/9/2018] Orix Buffaloes and Yokohama Bay Stars agree on two-for-two trade

The Orix Buffaloes and Yokohama Bay Stars announced today that they agreed on a two-for-two player trade. Orix will send twenty-nine-year-old catcher Hikaru Ito and twenty-seven-year-old pitcher Ken Akama to Yokohama for twenty-seven-year-old catcher Shuto Takajo and twenty-five-year-old infielder Hiroyuki Shirasaki.

The Buffaloes also released uniform numbers for their newest additions: Takajo number 22 and Shirasaki number 2.

[4/18/2018] Tomoya Ichikawa heads to Softbank in cash trade

The Softbank Hawks and Nippon Ham Fighters announced on April 18 that they reached an agreement on a trade. The Fighters will send thirty-two-year-old Tomoya Ichikawa to the Hawks for cash considerations.

Softbank assigned Ichikawa the uniform number 30.

[3/14/2018] Hanshin Tigers, Seibu Lions agree to trade

The Hanshin Tigers and Seibu Lions announced earlier today that they agreed to a one-for-one player trade. The Tigers will send thirty-one-year-old Daiki Enokida to the Lions for thirty-two-year-old Yosuke Okamoto.

[11/11/2017] Softbank sends Ayatsugu to Rakuten for Nishida

The Softbank Hawks and Rakuten Eagles reached an agreement on a one-for-one player trade on November 11. The Hawks will send twenty-four-year-old Ayatsugu Yamashita to the Rakuten Eagles for twenty-six-year-old Tetsuro Nishida.

The Hawks held a press conference for Nishida on November 15. He was assigned the uniform number 22. His salary will be an estimated twelve million yen.

[11/11/2017] Softbank sends Hiroki Yamada to Yakult

The Softbank Hawks announced on November 11 that they agreed to a trade that will send twenty-nine-year-old Hiroki Yamada to the Yakult Swallows. No other players will be exchanged.

Yamada was assigned the uniform number 34 by the Swallows. He will join their fall camp in Matsuyama on November 12.

[7/31/2017] Chunichi Dragons bolster pen with Keisuke Tanimoto

The Chunichi Dragons announced today that they acquired Keisuke Tanimoto from the Nippon Ham Fighters for cash. He was assigned the uniform number 60.

[UPDATE 7/31 @ 6:30pm]

The Dragons held a press conference for Tanimoto at Nagoya Stadium today. He then traveled to Tokyo to tie up loose ends with the Nippon Ham Fighters. He could make the active roster as early as August 3.

Tanimoto told reporters during his press conference that the trade caught him by surprise. He also spoke about how he grew up watching the Dragons as a kid.
