[4/18/2018] Tomoya Ichikawa heads to Softbank in cash trade

The Softbank Hawks and Nippon Ham Fighters announced on April 18 that they reached an agreement on a trade. The Fighters will send thirty-two-year-old Tomoya Ichikawa to the Hawks for cash considerations.

Softbank assigned Ichikawa the uniform number 30.

[3/14/2018] Hanshin Tigers, Seibu Lions agree to trade

The Hanshin Tigers and Seibu Lions announced earlier today that they agreed to a one-for-one player trade. The Tigers will send thirty-one-year-old Daiki Enokida to the Lions for thirty-two-year-old Yosuke Okamoto.

[11/11/2017] Softbank sends Ayatsugu to Rakuten for Nishida

The Softbank Hawks and Rakuten Eagles reached an agreement on a one-for-one player trade on November 11. The Hawks will send twenty-four-year-old Ayatsugu Yamashita to the Rakuten Eagles for twenty-six-year-old Tetsuro Nishida.

The Hawks held a press conference for Nishida on November 15. He was assigned the uniform number 22. His salary will be an estimated twelve million yen.

[11/11/2017] Softbank sends Hiroki Yamada to Yakult

The Softbank Hawks announced on November 11 that they agreed to a trade that will send twenty-nine-year-old Hiroki Yamada to the Yakult Swallows. No other players will be exchanged.

Yamada was assigned the uniform number 34 by the Swallows. He will join their fall camp in Matsuyama on November 12.

[7/31/2017] Chunichi Dragons bolster pen with Keisuke Tanimoto

The Chunichi Dragons announced today that they acquired Keisuke Tanimoto from the Nippon Ham Fighters for cash. He was assigned the uniform number 60.

[UPDATE 7/31 @ 6:30pm]

The Dragons held a press conference for Tanimoto at Nagoya Stadium today. He then traveled to Tokyo to tie up loose ends with the Nippon Ham Fighters. He could make the active roster as early as August 3.

Tanimoto told reporters during his press conference that the trade caught him by surprise. He also spoke about how he grew up watching the Dragons as a kid.

[7/26/2017] Rakuten Eagles acquire Luis Cruz in cash trade

The Rakuten Eagles announced today that they reached an agreement to acquire thirty-three-year-old Luis Cruz from the Yomiuri Giants for cash. He was assigned the uniform number 67.

The Eagles held a press conference for Cruz today and he went 1-for-4 with an RBI in tonight’s game against the Softbank Hawks.

The Eagles were looking for some infield help after losing both Kazuya Fujita and Eigoro Mogi to injuries. The recent injury to Carlos Peguero also opened up a foreign player slot on their active roster.

The Yakult Swallows and Nippon Ham Fighters announced today that they reached an agreement on a one-for-one trade. The Swallows will send twenty-five year-old pitcher Toshihiro Sugiura to the Fighters for twenty-eight-year-old catcher Shogo Yagi.

The Yomiuri Giants and Rakuten Eagles announced today that they agreed on a one-for-one player trade that will send twenty-seven-year-old pitcher Yuki Koyama up North for twenty-two-year-old infielder Takahiro Kakizawa.

[11/1/2016] Trade: Yomiuri sends Ota, Kumon to Nippon Ham for Yoshikawa, Ishikawa

The media learned today that the Yomiuri Giants and Nippon Ham Fighters agree on a two-for-two player trade. The Giants will send twenty-six-year-old Taishi Ota and twenty-four-year-old Katsuhiko Kumon to the Fighters for twenty-eight-year-old Mitsuo Yoshikawa and twenty-three-year-old Shingo Ishikawa.
