The Seibu Lions unveiled alternate uniforms they will be wearing during Lions Festivals 2017. Kazuhisa Makita, Ginjiro Sumitani, and Shogo Akiyama modeled the uniforms during a post-game press conference on April 8.

The Softbank Hawks announced that their Taka-no Saiten 2017 series will take place over eight games this season. They also unveiled the alternate uniforms they will be wearing during the series (modeled by Yuki Yanagita and Dennis Sarfate).
The stripes on the uniform look like the red stitching on a baseballs, but are actually based on the image of a Hawk flapping its wings. The color red (or Kachidoki Red) makes a return. The team went 6-2 when wearing Kachidoki Red during the Taka-no Saiten series in 2014.

The Hiroshima Carp announced on March 10 that they will be wearing special Hiroki Kuroda uniforms during an exhibition game on March 18 against the Nippon Ham Fighters. They unveiled the uniforms on March 13.
The special uniforms are based on designs that were used by the team when Kuroda first joined the team. All uniforms will carry the number fifteen, as well as a Kuroda patch on the left chest.0 Comments

The Nippon Ham Fighters unveiled their 2017 We Love Hokkaido Uniforms today. Shohei Otani modeled the uniform during a press conference.
The yellow used in the uniform comes from the 1977 film Shiawase no kiiroi hankachi (The Yellow Handkerchief) and represents happiness. Yellow also represents the sun and blue the sky. Together, they symbolize the team’s push toward successive championships.
The alternate uniforms will be worn during the following sixteen games this year:

The Chiba Lotte Marines unveiled their Marine Festa 2017 alternate uniforms earlier today. First round draft pick Chihaya Sasaki and second round draft pick Tomohito Sakai modeled the uniforms for the media.
The uniforms were inspired by the team’s youthful energy and the ocean beyond the stadium. The Marines logo across the front has a seagull motif. The uniform as a whole was designed to evoke images of the ocean.

The Hanshin Tigers unveiled their 2017 Ul-Tora Yellow Uniforms on January 31. Kosuke Fukudome and Atsushi Nomi modeled the uniforms for the media. The uniforms will be worn during nine games this year.
The Chunichi Dragons unveiled their new 2017 uniforms earlier today. Ryosuke Hirata, Yudai Ono, and Yohei Oshima modeled the uniforms for the media.
Hirata wore a special alternate uniform that included the silhouette of a dragon near the waist on a white to dark blue gradient with “Dragons” across the chest. Ono wore the white home uniforms that were originally unveiled when the 2016 draft class was introduced on December 12 last year. Oshima wore the road uniforms with the dark blue top, “Chunichi” across the front, “Dragons” on the sleeve, and white pants.
The special alternate uniforms will be worn during the following six games this season:

The Hanshin Tigers unveiled black alternate uniforms during a press conference earlier today. The black uniforms are based on designs used by the Osaka Tigers between 1948 and 1949. The uniforms will be worn during a three-game series against the Yomiuri Giants at Koshien Stadium in May (The Classic Series, May 23-25). Replica uniforms (6,500 yen) and caps (2,700 yen) will be available for advance purchase until February 26. Items will be shipped out in time for the series.

The Tigers wore similar black retro uniforms in 2010 and 2011. They did particularly well with the uniforms in 2010: fifteen home runs in six games with an average of about ten runs a game and a 4-2 record. They went 5-7 in 2011.

The Chiba Lotte Marines have signed sports partnership agreements (the Friendship City Program) with ten cities in Chiba: Chiba, Kamogawa, Ichihara, Urayasu, Kashiwa, Sodegaura, Narashino, Narita, Funabashi, and Mobara. Under the program, the Marines and each of the cities agree to work together to help promote regional growth and physical well-being through sports. The Marines announced today that players and coaches will wear special All For Chiba uniforms this season that include names of each of the cities participating in the Friendship City Program.
The Marines also unveiled a new version of their ALL for CHIBA uniform. The base color used for the uniforms, Sunrise Red, comes from mixing Chii-ba-kun’s (Chiba mascot) red with the Sunrise Pink Lotte used in their uniforms when they first moved to Chiba. The gradient for the cap bill and pant legs represent the splashing ocean water.2 Comments
