[5/26/2018] Yurisbel Gracial diagnosed with finger fracture

Yurisbel Gracial hurt his left hand while returning to first on a pick-off play during a game against the Seibu Lions at YafuOku Dome on May 24. He was examined at a hospital in Fukuoka on May 25 and diagnosed with a proximal phalanx fracture in his left ring finger. He will most likely need about two months for a full recovery.

Gracial is slated to return to Cuba temporarily for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in July. He will rejoin the team in August.

[3/9/2018] Yurisbel Gracial out three to four weeks

Yurisbel Gracial complained of pain in his left side on March 7. He was examined at a hospital in Fukuoka on March 7 and diagnosed with an injury to his left intercostal and abdominal oblique muscles.

The Softbank Hawks announced today that Gracial was reassigned to the rehab group. He could require three to four weeks for a full recovery.

[2/13/2018] Softbank Hawks reach agreement with Yurisbel Gracial Garcia

The Softbank Hawks announced today that they reached an agreement with thirty-two-year-old Yurisbel Gracial Garcia. He was assigned the uniform number 27.

Gracial is set to arrive in Japan on February 17. The Hawks are scheduled to hold a press conference for him on February 18.

According to media reports, the two sides agreed to a one-year deal worth an estimated fifty-five million yen.

[12/30/2017] Softbank Hawks interested in Yurisbel Gracial

The Softbank Hawks are interested in thirty-two-year-old Cuban Yurisbel Gracial. A Softbank official is currently in Cuba scouting the infielder. The Hawks most likely see Gracial as both injury insurance and competition to keep other players motivated.

The Hawks already have three of their four foreign player slots filled with Alfredo Despaigne, Dennis Sarfate, and Rick van den Hurk. Livan Moinelo could get the last spot, with Robert Suarez also a possibility.
