[9/27/2017] Hanshin first team with five sixty game pitchers

When Rafael Dolis took the mound in the eleventh inning of tonight’s game against the Yokohama Bay Stars at Koshien Stadium, he became the fifth reliever on the Hanshin Tigers’ roster to appear in sixty or more games this season.

The Tigers are the first team in NPB history to have five pitchers reach sixty or more appearances in the same season. They are also the first team in NPB history to have six pitchers reach fifty or more appearances in the same season (Kyuji Fujikawa pitched in his fiftieth game).

[2/22/2017] Suguru Iwazaki dealing with some neck pain

Suguru Iwazaki developed some neck pain after a bullpen session on February 21. He took things slow on February 22. He will keep things light on February 23 as well. He hopes to return to normal practices on February 25.

[7/23/2016] Suguru Iwazaki has tightness in right glute

Suguru Iwazaki felt discomfort in his right leg after his outing against the Hiroshima Carp at Mazda Stadium July 23 and was taken to a hospital in Hiroshima for an evaluation. He was diagnosed with tightness in his right glute.

[5/29/2016] Suguru Iwazaki becomes fourth Hanshin lefty to win a game this year

Suguru Iwazaki won his start against the Yomiuri Giants at Tokyo Dome on May 28 and became the fourth Hanshin left-handed pitcher to record a win this season.

The ten wins by left-handed starters ties Yokohama for most in the league.
