The Chunichi Dragons announced on November 24 that they hired two new batting practice pitchers: twenty-three-year-old Kentaro Nishikawa and thirty-seven-year-old Yuichi Hisamoto.
Nishikawa and Hisamoto attended the twelve team tryouts at Koshien Stadium earlier this month after they were senryokugaied by Chunichi and Hiroshima, respectively. Neither player received any serious offers from NPB teams.
The Dragons offered Nishikawa a job as a batting practice pitcher when they senryokugaied him. He did have the option of playing for an amateur team, but he decided to remain in the organization because he still wanted to help the team.
Hisamoto was offered a job as a batting practice pitcher by General Manager Hiromitsu Ochiai a couple of days after the tryouts. He started his career with the Dragons and wanted to help support them.0 Comments
