Yuya Kubo was taken off the active roster today because he might have a blood circulation problem in his right fingers. He is expected to get tested at a hospital shortly.
Kubo complained of numbness in his right fingers after his last outing on September 7 against Nippon Ham at Tokyo Dome.

Kubo was examined at a hospital and diagnosed with decreased blood flow in the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand. Since the condition is temporary, there will be no need for surgery.

The media learned on October 8 that Kubo is expected to have surgery to treat the blood flow condition in his fourth and fifth fingers. Kubo apprently decided to go under the knife because his recovery was taking longer than expected.

Thirty-six-year-old Yuya Kubo passed his tryout with the Rakuten Eagles. He was informed of the good news after he pitched a shutout inning in relief during a practice game against Hanwha earlier today.

The Rakuten Eagles announced today that they are going to give thirty-six-year-old Yuya Kubo a tryout during practices at Kincho Baseball Stadium in Okinawa between February 13 (Mon) and 16 (Thu).
Kubo started his professional career with the Yomiuri Giants out of Takai University. He remained in the organization until his release after the 2015 season. He signed a contract with the Yokohama Bay Stars and was again released after the season. Kubo attended the twelve team tryout in November last year and recorded two strikeouts and allowed one single.

The Rakuten Eagles are thinking about giving Yokohama senryokugai Yuya Kubo (36) a tryout during spring camp next year. Kubo wants to keep playing and participated in the twelve team tryouts last month. He struck out two of the three batters he faced and topped out at 136km/h.
