The Nippon Ham Fighters announced today that Masaru Nakamura will have reconstructive surgery on his right elbow (medial collateral ligament) at a hospital in Tokyo on July 5. He will most likely require more than a year for a full recovery.
Nakamura hurt his elbow toward the end of last season and was treated with Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy in late-September.

The Fighters announced that Nakamura had surgery on his right elbow today. There were no complications during the procedure. He will most likely require about fourteen months for a full recovery.

Nakamura was discharged from the hospital today. He will begin a rehab program at the Kamagaya facilities once he is ready.
