Shuta Tonosaki developed tightness in his back during pre-game practices today. He was taken to a hospital in Osaka for tests and diagnosed with mild tightness in his oblique abdominal muscle. Tonosaki was scheduled to get the start in right and bat fifth against Orix at Kyocera Dome, but the Seibu Lions decided to send him to the hospital for tests as a precaution.
Tonosaki is considered day-to-day. He is expected to remain with the Ichi-gun team for the time being.
[UPDATE 9/5 @ 1:09pm]
The Lions decided to take Tonosaki off the active roster on September 4 because they wanted to avoid the temptation of using him if he remained available. The team is hoping he can return in the minimum ten days.0 Comments
