Tatsushi Masuda is set to take over as the Seibu Lions new chief player representative. An official announcement will be made during a player meeting.

The Lions released their complete list of player representative officials on November 29.

• Masuda, Tatsushi – chief player representative
• Akiyama, Shogo – deputy chief player representative
• Kikuchi, Yusei – deputy chief player representative
• Takekuma, Shota – treasurer
• Kaneko, Yuji – secretary
• Genda, Sosuke – chief player representative assistant

[3/28/2017] Tatsushi Masuda set to be Seibu’s closer again this year

Tatsushi Masuda told listeners during a Seibu Lions radio show on Bunka Hoso earlier today that pitching coach Yoshihiro Doi told him he will be the closer from opening day. Masuda pitched in six exhibition games and recorded three saves. He and Brian Schlitter were competing for the closer role.
