Takero Okaijma is planning to have surgery on his left shoulder some time earlier next week. He will most likely require about six months for a full recovery.
Okajima was examined at a hospital in Chiba on February 6 and joined Ni-gun camp in Kumejima on February 8. He has had problems with his shoulder since he dislocated it during a game against Orix on July 23, 2017.

Takero Okajima left yesterday’s game against Lotte early because of discomfort in his lower back. He was examined at a hospital in Fukushima and diagnosed with intervertebral inflammation. He was taken off the active roster today. The Eagles will re-evaluate Okajima after two days of rest.

Toshiaki Imae took an HBP of his left arm against Lotte yesterday. He was examined at a hospital in Sendai after the game and diagnosed with a bruise. He did not make the starting line-up against Lotte today because of swelling in the area.

Takero Okajima tweaked his lower back while swinging the bat in the fourth inning against Lotte at kobo Stadium on April 13. He was replaced after the at bat as a precaution. The Eagles will decide what to do next after they see how he is feeling on April 14.
