The media learned on August 12 that Tatsuya Imai will visit a hospital on August 14 for tests on his right shoulder. Imai started a Ni-gun game against Rakuten on August 11 and felt something strange in the shoulder after throwing just six pitches.
[UPDATE 8/17 @ 6:29pm]
Ni-gun manager Tetsuya Shiozaki told reporters that Imai’s condition is not that serious (tests revealed inflammation). He also told reporters that while they were not planning to set a hard timetable for his first rehab game, they expected him to be ready in about a month (late-September).

Tatsuya Imai developed discomfort in his right shoulder after a start against Ni-gun Yakult on April 25. He was scratched from his next start on May 13 as a precaution. Imai had problems with his right shoulder during spring camp in February, but not in the same area. Still, the Seibu Lions are being cautious about his current condition.
