[8/29/2017] Hanshin Tigers would like Rafael Dolis, Marcos Mateo to return next year

The Hanshin Tigers would like Rafael Dolis (29) and Marcos Mateo (33) to return in 2018 based on their performances so far this year. The Tigers are expected to begin formal negotiations with their agents after the season. They have not yet made a decision on Jason Rogers.

There is a good chance the Tigers will part ways with Rogers (29) and Eric Campbell (30). They want an impact hitter and neither has managed to fill the role. They have an interest in Alex Guerrero (30).

The Tigers are expected to offer twenty-seven-year-old Roman Mendez a contract for next year, as well as Mateo and Dolis.

Randy Messenger will be in the second year of a two-year contract next season.

Campbell and Rogers are not expected to return to the Tigers next year.

Thirty-three-year-old Luis Mendoza left for Mexico out of Shin Chitose Airport on October 18.

Messenger left for the United States out of Kansai International Airport on October 20. The Tigers officially announced on October 20 that Messenger will be back next year.
