[11/28/2017] Duffy, Paredes, Santos will not be returning to Lotte in 2018

The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that they were not going to sign twenty-eight-year-old Matt Duffy, twenty-nine-year-old Jimmy Paredes, and thirty-year-old Roel Santos to contracts for the 2018 season.

According to Daily Sports, Paredes signed with the Doosan Bears. He agreed to a contract worth 700,000 US dollars with a signing bonus of 100,000 US dollars.

[10/9/2017] Chiba Lotte Marines: foreign player status

According to Daily Sports, the Chiba Lotte Marines are thinking about offering thirty-five-year-old Wily Mo Pena a contract for the 2018 season. They see him as an important part of their line-up.

The Marines feel twenty-eight-year-old Jimmy Paredes has a number of adjustments to make, but could still be an interesting option.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jason Standridge and twenty-six-year-old Kuan-Yu Chen are expected to return. The Marines are not planning to offer twenty-eight-year-old Matt Duffy and thirty-year-old Roel Santos contracts for the 2018 season.

[10/2/2017] Matt Duffy returns to the United States

Matt Duffy returned to the United States on a flight to Boston out of Narita Airport on October 2. Before leaving, he told reporters that he wished he could have done more to help the team win. He also thanked fans for their support.

The Chiba Lotte Marines are not planning to offer Duffy a new contract.
