[3/29/2017] NPB: All-Star game to be held at rural stadiums every four years

The twelve professional teams and the NPB agreed to hold one All-Star game at a rural stadium once every four years, beginning in 2018. The league is hoping to help promote baseball in areas where people have few opportunities to watch live games. The first location, to be used in 2018, has already been selected: Kumamoto.

Preliminary details for the 2018 All-Star series:

  • July 2018 (exact date TBD)
  • Locations:
    • Game 1: TBD
    • Game 2: Fujisakidai Baseball Stadium in Kumamoto
