[4/12/2017] Shota Nakazaki out with lower back pain

Shota Nakazaki was taken off the active roster on April 10 because of discomfort on the right side of his abdomen. He felt the discomfort on the morning of April 10. He participated in practices to confirm his condition. The Hiroshima Carp announced at 3:00pm on the same day that they were taking him off the active roster. He was examined at a hospital in Hiroshima on April 11 and diagnosed with lower back pain. He will resume practices as soon as the pain subsides.

[UPDATE 5/23 @ 12:19am]

Nakazaki is expected to rejoin the Ichi-gun team on May 23. The Carp will  most likely ease him back into the mix by using him in the sixth and seventh innings.
