Hayato Takagi left tonight’s game against the Yakult Swallows after suffering an injury during his at bat in the second inning.
Takagi attempted a sacrifice bunt with runners on first and second and one out in the second inning. The ball made contact near his right hand and rolled into play. He was unable to run to first. The catcher fielded the ball and completed a 2-5-3 double play to end the inning.
Takagi also took a batted ball near his chest in the first inning. He still managed to recover and throw Tetsuto Yamada out at first for the last out of the inning.
[UPDATE 4/20 @ 10:09pm]
