Shinnosuke Ogasawara started a Ni-gun game against Softbank at Nagoya Stadium today. He gave up a run on three hits over six innings of work. He threw 100 pitches, struck out nine, and topped out at 145km/h. Chunichi beat Softbank 3-1.
Ogasawara pitched well early on and held Softbank to one infield hit through five innings. He gave up a run on a walk and a double to Munenori Kawasaki in the sixth.
On a side note: Kawasaki started at third (he moved to second in the fourth inning and was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning) and batted lead-off for Softbank. He went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. He is expected to make the active roster in time for the Orix three-game series that begins on April 28.
