June 18, 2017 vs Lotte at Tokyo Dome – Abe hit two home runs to push his season total to ten. He has now hit at least ten home runs in seventeen consecutive seasons, beginning with his first year. He joined Sadaharu Oh (twenty-one years) and Shigeo Nagashima (seveteen years) as the only players in franchise history to hit at least ten home runs in seventeen or more consecutive seasons. Of the three, only Nagashima and Abe have accomplished the feat beginning in their first year.

This was also Abe’s thirtieth multi-homer game, fifth most in franchise history, and tied for tenth with Akira Eto in Central League history.
