Yoshitomo Tsutsugo was left out of the starting line-up against the Hiroshima Carp at Mazda Stadium on May 18 because he was not feeling well (cold with fever). He was at the stadium, but did not participate in pre-game practices. He was available to pinch-hit, but Alex Ramirez told reporters he did not plan to use Tsutsugo because he wanted him to get better.

Tsutsugo missed the Yomiuri game on May 19 because of discomfort in his hips. He first felt the discomfort during the Hiroshima game on May 17.

Tsutsugo missed another game on May 20 because of hip discomfort. He might be ready to return to the line-up on May 21.

Tsutsugo missed a fourth straight game on May 21. There is a good chance he will be ready to return to the line-up on May 23. He told reporters he was feeling better and that he wanted to be ready in case he is okay to play.
