The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that they reached an agreement with thirty-five-year-old Wily Mo Pena. He was assigned the uniform number 54. According to media reports, the two sides agreed to a deal for the current season worth an estimate 300,000 US dollars. He could arrive in Japan some time next week.

The Marines will be able to add Pena to their seventy-man roster on June 16 (his work visa is set to clear). He should be able to play in the Ni-gun game against Yakult on the same day. Depending on his condition, the Marines could add him to the active roster on June 17.

Pena was added to the seventy-man roster day. He got the start at designated hitter and batted third against Ni-gun Yakult and went 1-for-4 with an RBI. He hit an RBI single to right.
