[9/8/2017] Orix would like Yoshihisa Hirano to stay

Thirty-three-year-old Yoshihisa Hirano is in the final year of a three-year contract. He has an international free agent option. The Orix Buffaloes have already reached out to Hirano to let him know that they want him back next year.

The Red Sox and Cubs may be interested in Hirano. An unnamed NL scout told Sponichi that Hirano was a good pitcher that could handle the seventh and eighth innings and would be worth a multi-year deal.

Hirano told reporters on October 18 that it would not take him long to decide what to do with his free agent option if there were MLB clubs interested in his services. He seems to want to play on the West Coast.
