Naomichi Donoue hurt his left hand when he struck out swinging as a pinch-hitter during a game against the Hiroshima Carp at Nagoya Dome on September 8. He was examined at a hospital in Noagya and diagnosed with a fracture in his left hamate bone. He could miss two to three months.
Donoue released a statement through the Dragons informing fans that he planned to focus on treatment and prepare for next year.

The Dragons announced today that Donoue had surgery to treat his fracture at a hospital in Nagoya.
