The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that they will play three exhibition games against the CPBL Lamigo Monkeys at Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium in Taiwan. Lotte will release the roster for the series at a later date. Lotte went 3-0 against Taiwan’s national team last year and 1-2 against Lamigo in 2014.
The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that thirty-five-year-old Shunichi Nemoto and thirty-four-year-old Takeshi Kanazawa will be retiring this year. The Marines released the following comments from the two players:
I was able to get this far with a lot of help and support during my thirteen year career. I am nothing but grateful to everyone that supported me. I had a good career.
I consider myself really lucky for having the chance to play for the best team, the best teammates, and the best fans. I am full of gratitude.

The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that thirty-three-year-old Kenji Otonari and thirty-four-year-old Yoshifumi Okada will retire at the end of the season. The Marines released the following statements from the two players.
Thank you for all the support you provided over my twelve-year career. It was not easy career, but I was able to get through it with the help and support from various people. I am really grateful. Thank you very much.
Ten years was a short time, but I had a good baseball career. The Chiba Lotte Marines selected me during the Ikusei draft and they gave me an opportunity to play baseball. I hope to use what I learned during the next part of my life. I have no regrets. I feel I was able to have such a fulfilling career because of all the support the fans provided. Thank you for cheering for me.

September 9 vs Seibu at MetLife Dome – Fukuura blasted a home run (fourth inning, off Tatsuya Imai), his first since April 9, 2015. At forty-two years and eight months, he joined Tadashi Wakabayashi (1950, forty-two years and five months), Katsuya Nomura (1978, forty-three years and one month), and Tadahito Iguchi (2017, forty-two years and nine months) as the only Lotte players over forty-two to hit a home run.

The Chiba Lotte Marines announced on August 18 that they will once again play the CPBL Lamigo Monkeys during spring camp next year. The Asia Gateway Power Series 2019 in Ishigakijima will take place on February 9 (Saturday) and 10 (Sunday) at Ishigaki Chuo Sports Park Baseball Stadium.
