According to Sports Hochi, the Rakuten Eagles are interested in twenty-five-year-old Jae-Hoon Ha. The outfielder is currently playing for the Tokushima Indigo Socks (26-for-68, 17 R, 3 HR, 13 RBI). They like his power from the right side and his speed.

[5/13/2016] Leyson Septimo to work out with the Chunichi Dragons

The Chunichi Dragons announced today that thirty-year-old pitcher Leyson Septimo will participate in their practices on a trial basis, beginning on May 14.

The Dragons are looking for more pitching and decided to give Septimo a look since he is available.

[5/13/2016] Orix Buffaloes sign Matt Clark

According to a number of media reports, the Orix Buffaloes have finalized a contract with twenty-nine-year-old infielder Matt Clark. He has already passed his physical and an announcement is expected soon.

Back in November, Clark tweeted that he was a free agent interested in returning to Japan. He also sent the message to the Softbank Hawks, Orix Buffaloes, and Chunichi Dragons.

The Buffaloes may have unofficially asked Clark to refrain from posting tweets that referred to his contract with the team. Orix has yet to make an official announcement about their agreement.

The Buffaloes announced that they reached an agreement with Clark. A press conference is scheduled for May 19. He has been assigned the uniform number 44.

The Buffaloes held a press conference for Clark earlier today. According to media reports, the two sides agreed to a one-year deal worth an estimated thirty million yen plus incentives.

The Yokohama Bay Stars are interested in twenty-nine-year-old infielder Tyler Moore. They are in the middle of negotiations with Moore and would like to finalize an agreement as soon as possible.

[4/26/2016] Yokohama unable to finalize deal with Matt McBride

The Yokohama Bay Stars are interested in thirty-year-old Matt McBride. The two sides could be close to finalizing a deal. If negotiations go smoothly, there is a chance he could join the team before the end of the month. The Bay Stars are most likely looking at McBride primarily as a right fielder.

[4/21/2016] Yomiuri Giants reach agreement with Jose Adolis Garcia

The Yomiuri Giants announced today that they reached an agreement with twenty-three-year-old outfielder Jose Adolis Garcia. He has been assigned the uniform number 79. He is expected to arrive in Japan some-time after early-May. According to media reports, the two sides agreed to a deal worth an estimated ten million yen.

The Giants held a press conference for Garcia on May 23. They are not expecting him to contribute right away and will have him begin at San-gun. They see him as a long-term investment.

[4/18/2015] Yomiuri Giants to sign Samuel Adames to an Ikusei contract

The Yomiuri Giants announced that they reached an agreement with twenty-one-year-old Samuel Adames. The two sides agreed on an Ikusei contract worth an estimated 2.2 million yen. Adames is expected to arrive in Japan before the end of the month.

[4/13/2015] Yomiuri Giants to sign Manuel Soliman to an Ikusei contract

According to a number of media reports, the Yomiuri Giants are close to signing twenty-six-year-old pitcher Manuel Soliman to what may be an Ikusei contract. They are also looking into twenty-one-year-old pitcher Samuel Adames. The Giants see both as players that might be able to help the team in the future. They currently have eight foreign players on the seventy-man roster with one under an Ikusei contract.

Yomiuri sent a scout to the Dominican Republic during the off-season to check on talent. They held a tryout in March to narrow down their options.
