[4/21/2018] Kenya Wakatsuki leaves game early with hamstring discomfort

Kenya Wakatsuki felt discomfort in his left hamstring while running the bases in the second inning of a game against the Rakuten Eagles at Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi on April 21. He remained in the game until he was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning. He was examined at a hospital in Sendai and diagnosed with inflammation in his left hamstring. He is considered day-to-day.

[4/3/2018] Tatsuya Yamaashi needs twelve stitches to close cut on knee

Tatsuya Yamaashi suffered a cut on his left knee while playing defense in the seventh inning against the Chiba Lotte Marines on April 3. He was removed on defense in the eighth inning and taken to a hospital in Osaka for treatment. He needed twelve stitches. No other abnormalities were found.

[3/16/2018] Buffaloes add Tsubasa Sakakibara to seventy-man roster

The Orix Buffaloes announced that they added nineteen-year-old Ikusei pitcher Tsubasa Sakakibara to their seventy-man roster. His uniform number will change from 124 to 61.

[3/7/2018] T-Okada takes pitch off head during Kyoiku League game

T-Okada took a pitch off his head during the first inning of a Kyoiku League game against Softbank earlier today. He was taken to a hospital in Osaka for tests and was diagnosed with a bruise on his head. He is considered day-to-day.

T-Okada was sent down to Ni-gun because of tightness in his right side in February. He just recently played in his first rehab game on March 4.

[2/10/2018] Orix Buffaloes: Kansai Classic 2018 Uniforms

The Orix Buffaloes announced today that they will wear retro Hankyu Braves and Kintetsu Buffaloes uniforms during their Kansai Classic series this season.

Schedule

  • 04/28 (Sat) vs Softbank at Kyocera Dome
  • 04/29 (Sun) vs Softbank at Kyocera Dome
  • 04/30 (Mon) vs Softbank at Kyocera Dome

Orix will wear Kintetsu Buffaloes (1978-1996) road uniforms. Softbank will wear Nankai Hawks (1984-1988) road uniforms.

  • o5/01 (Tue) vs Seibu at Kyocera Dome
  • 05/02 (Wed) vs Seibu at Kyocera Dome
  • 05/03 (Thu) vs Seibu at Kyocera Dome

Orix will wear Hankyu Braves (1985-1988) road uniforms. Seibu will wear Seibu Lions (2004-2008) home uniforms.

[2/9/2018] T-Okada reassigned to Ni-gun camp with tightness in right side

Takahiro Okada had been taking things slow since he developed some tightness in his right side on February 6. The Orix Buffaloes decided to reassign Okada to Ni-gun camp on February 8 because his condition was not improving as quickly as they had hoped.

[2/6/2018] Orix Bufaloes to check on talent in the US

The Orix Buffaloes are planning to send a scout to the United States later this month to check on talent. The Buffaloes are looking for some insurance in case something happens to one or more of their four foreign players on the seventy-man roster (pitchers Brandon Dickson and Andrew Albers and position players Chris Marrero and Stefen Romero).

The Orix Buffaloes announced today that they re-signed ACN (Active Communication Network) to a new cap sponsorship agreement. The ACN logo will appear on caps worn by players, coaches, and staff beginning on February 1.
