According to numerous media reports, Yoshiharu Maru is planning to sign with the Yomiuri Giants. An official announcement could be made some time today.

Maru spoke to media at Mazda Stadium today and told them he decided to sign with the Giants. He made the decision last night and contacted Tatsunori Hara this morning. He also contacted Tadahito Iguchi to turn down Lotte’s offer (his agent contact Lotte officials).

According to media reports, he agreed to a five year deal worth an estimated 2.55 billion yen (and possibly over 3 billion yen with performance bonuses).
