Ryosuke Miyaguni took a batted ball off the back of his right hand during a batting practice scrimmage on February 15. He was examined at a hospital in Naha. There were no broken bones. He was diagnosed with a bruise and is considered day-to-day.

Miyaguni resumed playing catch on February 16 (distance of about ten meters).

Miyaguni threw ninety-three pitches in the bullpen on February 20. It was his first session to a squatting catcher since he suffered the bruise.

Ryosuke Miyaguni was taken off the active roster today because coaches felt he would be unable to pitch at full strength. He has not appeared in a game since July 23.

According to Sanspo, Miyaguni’s having problems with his right shoulder.
