Kazuyuki Kaneda started feeling pain in his right middle finger around February 21. He was examined at a hospital in Miyazaki on February 22 and diagnosed with inflammation in the finger. He was reassigned to the Ni-gun team today. There is no timetable on his return. He will not be doing any throwing for the time being.

According to a report by Nikkan Sports, the Orix Buffaloes have selected twenty-six-year-old Kazuyuki Kaneda as part of their compensation for losing Yoshio Itoi to the Hanshin Tigers. An official announcement is expected on December 16.

The Buffaloes and Tigers announced today that Kaneda was selected as compensation. The Tigers will also pay the Buffaloes 40% of Itoi’s 2016 salary (about 112 million yen).
