Kosuke Fukudome hit for the cycle during tonight’s game against the Chunichi Dragons at Koshien Stadium. This was the second cycle of his career. He recorded his first cycle on June 8, 2003. Kosuke Fukudome: Did You Know

Fukudome was selected by Yomiuri, Yakult, Chunichi, Lotte, Orix, Nippon Ham, and Kintetsu during the 1995 draft. He wanted to play for either Yomiuri or Chunichi, but Kintetsu won the pick. Kintetsu tried to persuade him to sign by saying they would trade him after three years, but that got the organization into trouble because it was against the rules.

Fukudome went on to play for for Nihon Seimei (Industrial League) and re-entered the draft three years later in 1998 and joined Chunichi using the reverse selection (gyaku shimei) rule.
