Naomichi Donoue hurt his left hand when he struck out swinging as a pinch-hitter during a game against the Hiroshima Carp at Nagoya Dome on September 8. He was examined at a hospital in Noagya and diagnosed with a fracture in his left hamate bone. He could miss two to three months.
Donoue released a statement through the Dragons informing fans that he planned to focus on treatment and prepare for next year.

Naomichi Donoue was scheduled to play in today’s exhibition game against the Seibu Lions, but was a late scratch because he felt discomfort in his right shoulder during pre-game fielding practice.
Alex Guerrero also missed today’s game — he felt mild pain in his left wrist during pre-game batting practice. He initially hurt the wrist while sliding into second during a game at Nagoya Dome last week.

Guerrero told reporters on March 24 that the wrist was feeling better, though there was still some pain. He was able to swing the bat at about ninety percent during batting practice.
Donoue was able to participate in practices as usual on March 24.
