Aito made the starting line-up in fourteen games in August. His slugging percentage (.600) was good for second in the league. His batting average, home runs, and RBI were among the top in the league in August.

Western League

Takuya Mitsuma, Chunichi
7 G, 2-1, 20.2 IP, 26 SO, 2 ER, 0.87 ERA

Mitsuma pitched in seven games in August. He was a stable presence out of the bullpen before recording two wins in two starts as a starter. He was the only pitcher in the league to record an ERA under 1.00 in August. His two wins were tied for first and he led the league in strikeouts (26).
