Kenta Imamiya hurt his left leg (thigh) while playing defense in the first inning of a game against the Seibu Lions at MetLife Dome on September 17. He was unable to walk and had to be carried off the field. He received treatment and was later able to walk out of the stadium on his own. He was taken to a hospital for tests. He will be re-examined today.

Imamiya was examined at a hospital in Tokyo today and diagnosed with an injury to his left semitendinosus and semimembranosus muscles (hamstring). He was taken off the active roster on the same day, with hopes that he can return in the minimum ten days.0 Comments
Kenta Imamiya was taken off the active roster on June 13 with inflammation in his right elbow. He was playing threw the injury, but it was beginning to affect not only his fielding, but also his hitting. He will begin rehab today and may require more than the minimum ten days.

The media learned on October 17 that Kenta Imamiya will have surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. The loose bodies were discovered during the off-season last year. He skipped surgery and was fine until the pain got worse toward the end of the season. He will most likely require two to three months for a full recovery. He should be fine for the start of the season next year.

Kenta Imamiya did not participate in practices and did not play in tonight’s game against the Chiba Lotte Marines because of pain in his right elbow. He may have suffered the injury during yesterday’s game against Lotte. He told coaches that he had difficulty throwing the ball.
