[9/18/2018] Kenta Imamiya hurts left leg

Kenta Imamiya hurt his left leg (thigh) while playing defense in the first inning of a game against the Seibu Lions at MetLife Dome on September 17. He was unable to walk and had to be carried off the field. He received treatment and was later able to walk out of the stadium on his own. He was taken to a hospital for tests. He will be re-examined today.

Imamiya was examined at a hospital in Tokyo today and diagnosed with an injury to his left semitendinosus and semimembranosus muscles (hamstring). He was taken off the active roster on the same day, with hopes that he can return in the minimum ten days.

[6/14/2018] Kenta Imamiya taken off active roster

Kenta Imamiya was taken off the active roster on June 13 with inflammation in his right elbow. He was playing threw the injury, but it was beginning to affect not only his fielding, but also his hitting. He will begin rehab today and may require more than the minimum ten days.

[5/22/2018] Kenta Imamiya bumped from starting line-up because of elbow discomfort

Kenta Imamiya was left out of the starting line-up against Seibu at YafuOku Dome on May 22 because of discomfort in his elbow. He was slated to make the starting line-up, but complained of discomfort in his elbow after participating in pre-game practices. He was taken to a hospital in Fukuoka for an examination.

Kenta Imamiya visited a hospital in Fukuoka on March 23 and was diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis. He will get some rest at home until March 25. He is expected to miss the remaining exhibition games on the schedule.

[2/24/2018] Kenta Imamiya has right elbow synovitis

Kenta Imamiya developed pain in his right elbow on February 23. He visited a hospital in Fukuoka on February 24 and was diagnosed with elbow synovitis. Imamiya believes he will be fine for opening day, but it is unclear if he will be okay for the Samurai Japan games against Australia on March 2 and 3.

[7/8/2017] Kenta Imamiya left out of the starting line-up

Kenta Imamiya was left out of the starting line-up tonight against the Nippon Ham Fighters at Sapporo Dome because of fatigue related lower back pain. He was taken to a hospital in Sapporo for tests during pre-game practices. This was the first time he did not make the starting line-up this season.

Kimiyasu Kudo told reporters the turf at Sapporo Dome was hard and that now was not the time to push players.

Imamiya missed two games because of lower back pain and a fever. He was again left out of the starting line-up tonight.

[10/18/2016] Kenta Imamiya to have elbow surgery

The media learned on October 17 that Kenta Imamiya will have surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. The loose bodies were discovered during the off-season last year. He skipped surgery and was fine until the pain got worse toward the end of the season. He will most likely require two to three months for a full recovery. He should be fine for the start of the season next year.

[9/27/2016] Kenta Imamiya to get elbow checked out

Kenta Imamiya did not participate in practices and did not play in tonight’s game against the Chiba Lotte Marines because of pain in his right elbow. He may have suffered the injury during yesterday’s game against Lotte. He told coaches that he had difficulty throwing the ball.

Imamiya returned to Fukuoka and will be examined at a hospital tomorrow.
