The Yakult Swallows are looking into options on the overseas market in case negotiations with Wladimir Balentien end badly. According to Daily Sports, twenty-seven-year-old Dean Green is one player that Swallows are interested in.
Yakult likes Green because he has some pop and can play first. Kazuhiro Hatakeyama has been their main option at first, but he was limited to forty-five games this year because of a hamate injury and there are general concerns about what kind of season he might have next season (he turned thirty-four last month).
