The Chiba Lotte Marines announced today that they were not going to sign twenty-eight-year-old Matt Duffy, twenty-nine-year-old Jimmy Paredes, and thirty-year-old Roel Santos to contracts for the 2018 season.

According to Daily Sports, Paredes signed with the Doosan Bears. He agreed to a contract worth 700,000 US dollars with a signing bonus of 100,000 US dollars.

According to Daily Sports, the Chiba Lotte Marines are thinking about offering thirty-five-year-old Wily Mo Pena a contract for the 2018 season. They see him as an important part of their line-up.

Kakeru Narita and Jimmy Paredes played in a Ni-gun game against Yakult at Toda Stadium earlier today.
Narita started the game for Lotte and gave up five runs (three earned) over five innings of work. He threw ninety-six pitches, faced twenty-six hitters, allowed seven hits, walked four, and struck out three. He topped out at 140km/h.
Paredes got the start at designated hitter and batted lead-off. He went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI. He hit a solo home run in the first inning and a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Both home runs came off Ross Ohlendorf.0 Comments
