Alex Guerrero was hit by a pitch during today’s game against the Hiroshima Carp at Nagoya Dome.
Guerrero stepped up to bat with a runner on first and two out in the fourth inning. Akitake Okada threw a pitch that hit Guerrero on the right shoulder as he swung and missed. He left the field for treatment, but did not return.
Yusuke Matsui entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Guerrero and grounded back to the pitcher for final out of the inning.

Guerrero was left out of the starting line-up against Hiroshima on Sunday (September 10). He told reporters he was still in pain and that there was no chance he was going to play.

Guerrero participated in practices at Nagoya Dome today. He told reporters he still felt some pain when swinging the bat and throwing the ball. He said his status moving forward would depend on how he felt tomorrow morning.

Alex Guerrero was hit by a pitch on his right hand during a game against the Yakult Swallows on July 26 and ended up missing three games. He returned to the line-up on July 30, but his hand was still not fully healed. Alex Guerrero did not play in tonight’s game against the Yakult Swallows at Jingu Stadium because of some swelling in his right hand. Guerrero was hit by a pitch on his right hand during his at bat in the fifth inning of a game on July 26. He was later taken to a hospital and diagnosed with a bruise (no broken bones). He is considered day-to-day.

Alex Guerrero was hit by a pitch on his right shoulder with the bases loaded and two out during the eighth inning of a game against the Hanshin Tigers on June 27. He was replaced by a pinch-runner.
Guerrero played catch and took some batting practice during pre-game practices on June 28. He did not participate in fielding practice. He told reporters he was able to swing the bat without any pain, but had some difficulty throwing the ball. He still made the starting line-up in left and batted clean-up.

Alex Guerrero is a little banged up after fouling a couple of balls off his legs the last two days.
During a game against Hanshin on April 28, he fouled a pitch off his left (or right?) hamstring in the second inning and was replaced on defense in the third inning. He was left out of the starting line-up on April 29, but later made it into the game as a pinch-hitter. He struck out swinging, but not before fouling a pitch off the area near his left ankle.

Guerrero told reporters on May 1 that his leg was fine. He could return to the starting line-up today.
